Something that annoys me a great deal more than it probably should is when the first syllable from the month October is replaced with something else.
I’m sure there’s more, but I can’t think of anymore at the moment.
It just doesn’t really make sense. Neither of those things rhyme with October. Maybe if it were Awktober (which would be every month for someone awkward with me) because it fits because it sounds like the actual month name. While any is equivalent with oct in the cardinal sense, it doesn’t match in any other way and that bugs me. :/
It also bothers me because it’s my birth month and, by transfer, my favorite month. Don’t mess with it. If you must change it, change it to something like Kayleeisawesometober. It doesn’t make sense like any of the others, but if it’s a tribute to me, then I guess I can overlook it.
Earlier this morning, I was getting back from class and was walking up my driveway minding my own business. Then, I don’t know why (it was probably my animal instincts), I happened to look down. About a foot away from where I was standing was a squirrel. It was frozen and staring at me. I froze, too.
My first thought was, “Is it real?”
My second was, “Should I try touching it?”
Then the squirrel moved. And, I was like, “OMG!" And, the squirrel was like, "OMG!" And, we both took off running.
It was probably one of the scariest moments of my life. Up there, somewhere, with the car accident I got in, that one time when my car engine caught on fire, and when I was walking Katie and we saw a deer in town.
In my head:
This just further reinforces the idea that I should never leave my house.
